Affiliate disclosure

Rate-comparison pages (loans, GPS, remittance, pawnshop) link to providers. When a reader applies through one of these links, the platform may receive a referral commission at no extra cost to the reader. Affiliate status does not influence whether a company is listed as a bad actor and does not move rankings.

A company can be both an affiliate partner and a documented bad actor. The accountability page and the rate page reference each other directly when this is the case.

Operating costs

  • Hosting (Fly.io): paid monthly from operator funds.
  • Domain: renewal funded out-of-pocket.
  • SMS / Telegram bot: free tiers; no per-message billing in current operation.
  • Storage: file-based; no SaaS dependencies.

Operating structure

LabanPH is operated as an editorial collective. Individual operator identity is not disclosed for safety reasons given the regulatory-target nature of this work — entities documented here have demonstrated capacity for retaliation against named individuals.

Press inquiries are answered institutionally, not personally.

Conflicts of interest

LabanPH was started in response to documented overcharging patterns including a Filipino consumer's first-hand account of a disputed charge under the small-claims litigation threshold paired with an MCCS kill-switch shutdown. The structural pattern — sub-litigation amounts plus remote-disable leverage — is the documented origin of the platform.

If funding changes

Any new funding source — investor, grant, donation programme, or sponsorship — will be added here within 7 days of acceptance, with the amount, the funder, and any conditions attached. The change will also appear in the platform update log and at /corrections if it affects past coverage.
